To obtain a Russian tourist visa, the following documents must be presented to Russian consulates:
- completed application form, one per person (please be advised that TOURISM should be given as the purpose of your visit in the application form at the Russian consulate);
- valid national passport, validity exceeding planned date of departure from Russia by 6 months
- three black-and-white, passport-size, matt-finish photographs
- the invitation from an authorised Russian agent (visa support) consists of:
- foreign Tourist Reception Confirmation
- tourist Voucher.
The visa fee is paid at Russian consulates. The charge varies according to home country regulations and to the urgency of visa granting.
A Russian tourist visa is a passport-size document which is stamped or inserted into the passport. It carries entry and exit dates, passport number, lists accompanied children and states the visa type.
The document gives permission to enter and leave the country. If you lose it or exceed the stay duration you can have difficulties upon departure. You must register your visa within 72 hours of arrival to avoid paying a penalty. Upon hotel check-in, you must submit your passport, original visa and migration card (distributed aboard an aircraft or train or at the passport-control department of the airport or railway station) for hotel registration. The process normally takes an hour or more.
Russian tourist visa prolongation is possible only under force-majeure circumstances and in the event of:
- departure impossibility proved by medical certificates
- departure impossibility due to flight delay or cancellation.
Only your authorised Russian agent can be engaged in the difficult procedure of visa prolongation. Departure with an unregistered visa causes high penalties at passport control, including the possibility of violators being black-listed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this case, a violator cannot obtain a Russian tourist visa for five years.
Please keep in mind that an authorised Russian agent does not issue visas by itself. An authorised Russian agent can grant visa support documents.
Fond Mira LCC is officially registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a legal entity authorised to grant visa support documents. The company is empowered to engage in providing an invitation (Foreign Tourist Reception Confirmation and Tourist Voucher) which should be presented to Russian consulates in order to obtain a Russian tourist visa. The company provides tourist visa support documents free of charge. Visa support is granted only if the hotel where the tourist will be staying has a passport office and provides visa registration.
Visa support is granted to cover the itinerary of a tourist's stay on territories of the Russian Federation but no longer than for the duration of the stay in hotels and travel on territories of the Russian Federation confirmed by travel papers on condition of 100% prepayment for hotel accommodation and additional services including excursion programmes, transport services etc. Additional services can be paid for after arriving in the Russian Federation.
